Providence Swedish’s Eighth Annual LGBTQIA2S+ Health Symposium provides an opportunity for clinicians to gain additional knowledge and skills in providing care for our LGBTQIA+ communities through evidence-informed discussions on a variety of topics. In collaboration with a variety of experts, attendees will leave each conference with the tools to expand healthcare access to serve our LGBTQIA+ patients. 

Planned in partnership with providers from the Seattle region, will focus on the following topics:

• Primary care for LGBTQIA+ and queer women
• Queering menopause
• The intersection of age and LGBTQIA+ identity
• Behavioral and mental health considerations in the LGBTQIA+ community
• Preparing and supporting patients seeking gender-affirming surgeries
• The impacts of an administration change on LGBTQIA+ families
• The impacts of an administration change in LGBTQIA+ healthcare access in WA and in the United States

This symposium is open to all healthcare clinicians and professionals including students in health profession schools who work with our LGBTQIA+ communities.

Learning Objectives:
By attending this course, participants will provide better patient care through an increased ability to:

• Provide preventive and primary care services to LGBTQIA+ and queer women
• Support queer women and patients on testosterone therapy experiencing menopause and/or menopausal symptoms
• Discuss the impact on administrative changes on LGBTQIA+ families and LGBTQIA+ healthcare access
• Recognize the intersection of LGBTQIA+ identity with age and behavioral/mental health concerns
• Provide support and care for patients pursuing gender-affirming surgeries
