Statement of Need:
This CE activity updates clinicians on the most common sports medicine conditions in family/primary care and internal medicine settings. The purpose of this course is to provide learners with strategies that can be used to diagnose orthopaedic injuries and medical illnesses accurately and treat them accordingly. There will be a focus on exercise as medicine, athletic participation, physical activity as medicine for patients, and principles of exercise as medicine.

Learning Objectives:
After participating in this activity clinicians should be better able to:
• Develop a risk reduction plan through simple strategies that the patient can implement to assess their readiness for change.
• Create strategies for evaluating patients with injuries or illnesses relating to sports and activities to determine the best treatment.
• Strategy for how to encourage patients to incorporate exercise into a healthy lifestyle to improve their overall health and lower their risk of developing diseases.
