
Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) Winter Conference 2022 is organized by Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) and will be held from Feb 27 - Mar 03, 2022 at Snow King Mountain Resort, Jackson, Wyoming, United States of America.
Target Audience:
Medical professionals who engage in winter wilderness activities, including mountain travel, who counsel individuals who take part in such activities, or who practice in locations in which they are likely to encounter individuals who have been injured in such activities.
After two years apart, it is time! Time to gather together, explore together, and learn together, in the charming town of Jackson, Wyoming. Join us for the WMS 2022 Winter Conference for unforgettable experience including:
• Keynote Speaker Mirna Valerio (aka “The Mirnavator”)
• Exciting optional hands-on workshops including ice axe, avalanche rescue & resuscitation, foot care, wound closure.
• Interesting optional small group sessions including two wilderness boot camp sessions, improvised wilderness medicine.
Four exciting pre-conferences: Level 1 Avalanche Course (DiMM candidates only), Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) and Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS).
• New conference schedule pattern with a midday break for additional education, networking and time for recreation with family and friends.
• WMS members are invited to participate in the "Together We Achieve More" video contest.
Up to 32.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and FAWM core and elective credits. **FAWM credits awarded depend on personal credit needs and history.
Program Overview:
Morning and evening plenary sessions will cover all the essential winter wilderness topics. In the afternoons you can choose from indoor small group sessions and optional hands-on workshops outdoors, or you may choose to take some time off to enjoy outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling, or to explore the Grand Tetons, the local town, or Yellowstone National Park.

Early registration is encouraged due to limited space availability for the pre-conferences and the hands-on workshops.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Written notice of cancellation must reach the WMS office
• on or before Thursday, December 23, 2021 in order to receive full refund.
• between Friday, December 24, 2021 but on or before Friday, January 21, 2022 in order to receive a full refund minus $50 service fee.
• between Saturday, January 22, 2022 but on or before Monday, February 21, 2022 in order to receive a full refund minus $100 service fee.
• After February 21, 2022 no refunds will be given.
Registrant can choose to transfer their in-person registration to a virtual option up until February 21. The difference between the two registration prices will be offered as a refund or you may choose to donate the amount.
The WMS cannot be responsible for any personal or travel conditions that may prevent attendance at the conference.
COVID-19 Safety Protocol
Full COVID-19 vaccine is required for all participants and faculty. Based on current CDC and WHO recommendations, a participant/faculty is fully vaccinated: 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Future vaccines will follow the direction of the manufacturer for what is considered full vaccination course. In addition, the following might also be required:
• Negative COVID-19 test
• Masks
• Social Distancing

The WMS is committed to treating all persons with dignity, respect, and fairness. We support and comply with the ADA. In this regard, the WMS will make every reasonable effort to reduce anticipated barriers for attendance and provide an optimal experience for every attendee. We have established speaker guidelines encouraging more inclusive presentations and have closed captioning available for virtual presentations.
Policy on Consent to Use of Photographic Images
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, WMS meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to WMS’ use and distribution (now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities.
