Description:

Savour science together again:

Remember how much fun you had at face-to-face events? We're looking forward to reliving the joyful coincidences, chance contacts at conferences, face-to-face networking during coffee breaks, conversing with fellow attendees as you go to your next presentation, and Seeing someone you haven't seen for years is also a thrill.

New model, but with best of ILC tradition:

We'll get it all back to you securely at ILC 2022 in London. But in a new format, reforming our scientific curriculum and providing a unique experience that blends the finest of ILC tradition with cutting-edge advances. With more time for reflection, there is more room for relaxation. The session rooms, networking spots, food, exhibition, poster area, and communal spaces will all be set up to meet current health and safety standards. We'll build on decades of ILC tradition while incorporating new information.

ILC 2022 postgraduate course: "The future of clinical hepatology" - April 06 - 07, 2022

Description: The ILC 2022 Postgraduate Course (PGC) will be devoted to Clinical Hepatology of the forthcoming. Clinical hepatology will undergo significant changes due to advances in diagnosing and treating liver diseases. The seminar will include cutting-edge imaging, endoscopic liver-related procedures, robotic surgery, and liver support systems.

The latest advancements in the field of biomarkers for diagnosis, patient classification, and therapeutic response will be covered in this course. We will also discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) and "big data" are being used in hepatology, as well as the future of digitalized and personalized medicine.

ILC 2022 Basic Science Seminar: "Emerging concepts in liver metabolism" - April 06 - 07, 2022

Description: ILC 2022 will host a two-day Basic Science Seminar, which will focus on the liver's primary role as a location of hepatic fat storage, which is becoming increasingly common in metabolic diseases. From the macroscopic to the smallest scale, the seminar's goal is to take us on a journey to learn more about organ crosstalk, metabolic illnesses, as well as multicellular communication. In addition to highlighting the crucial pathways impaired in fatty liver disease, the speakers will also provide novel treatments for this disease.

Participants at the seminar will have the opportunity to interact with field leaders. This program contains a series of short duo-lectures, starting with a general overview of the topic, followed by an in-depth presentation by a talented co-presenter, and ending with an extensive roundtable discussion. There will be five such sessions covering fatty liver disease and its related complications such as fibrosis and cancer. The curriculum is appealing to both fundamental science workers and physicians who want to better their understanding of disease mechanisms and potential future treatment targets.

Learning objectives:

• To gain a better understanding of the importance of organ crosstalk in liver metabolism and how it is regulated.

• To gain a better understanding of how metabolism plays a role in liver cancer.

• To gain a better understanding of the complex cellular relationships and metabolic mechanisms that govern liver inflammation.

• To understand the nervous system's involvement and regulation in the control of hepatic and systemic metabolism.

• To learn more about how dysregulation of liver metabolism can contribute to fibrosis.

Note: ILC 2022 will offer best of class onsite learning and community experience in London. With a scalable digital extension to allow those, especially our newly won digital audiences, to participate online and on demand.
