Description:
The SAGES 2021 Annual Meeting has components that have been specifically created to meet the requirements of the practicing surgeons, surgeons-in Training, GI assistants, nurses, and other allied health professionals who are occupied in minimally invasive surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy.  Thorough coverage of traditional topics and presentations of "cutting edge" material can be discovered in this CME education. The SAGES CME Conference Committee advises that must participants design their own attendance schedule depending on their own personal educational objectives.

This year’s SAGES meeting content will highlight leadership, collaboration, education, and innovation:

Leadership: We will have content dedicated to the pandemic and SAGES’ response, a Masters session incorporating the principles of leadership and professional development, sessions dedicated to physician wellness, as well as those dedicated to advocacy.

Collaboration: Over 40% of our sessions are collaborative across SAGES committees and surgical disciplines. We have over 9 sessions in collaboration with other national and international societies including AAST, ASCRS, EAST, SSAT, ASMBS, STS, AHS, AHPBA, and ILLS, and several sessions dedicated to the global work done at SAGES and our priorities in reimagining surgery across the globe.

Education: SAGES’ commitment to education will be highlighted in the return of the SAGES Masters Series, Great Debates and Devil’s in the Details sessions for each of the SAGES pathways: acute care surgery, bariatric, biliary, colorectal, flexible endoscopy, foregut, hernia, liver, pancreas and robotics. We will also have sessions dedicated to the incredible impact SAGES has had on our learners and practicing surgeons through FLS, FES and FUSE.

Innovation: There we will be opportunity for both CME and non-CME hands-on courses and we will continue our dedication to longitudinal learning with our ADOPT courses in bile duct exploration and bariatric technique skill acquisition.
