OVERVIEW

Breast Imaging 2027, Featuring AI is organized by International Institute for Continuing Medical Education, Inc. (IICME), Altus Radiology Collective, Altus Collectives and will be held from Mar 14 - 17, 2027 at Grand Fiesta Americana Chapultepec, Mexico City, Mexico.

Overview:
In 2025, ACR published the first substantial revision to BI-RADS in twelve years. At the same time, AI-assisted interpretation moved from pilot projects into routine practice. Breast imagers are now absorbing both changes at once — a new reporting lexicon and a new set of tools sitting alongside them in the workflow.

This four-day program in Mexico City is built around exactly that. Led by Course Director Dr. Michael N. Linver, who has taught breast imaging at this level for thirty years, with faculty spanning the ACR commission that authored the new lexicon, academic AI leadership, and Latin American breast imaging practice.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply the ACR BI-RADS® v2025 updates in clinical mammography and breast MRI reporting, and identify the lexicon and assessment changes that differ from the prior edition.
  • Interpret digital breast tomosynthesis in both the screening and the diagnostic patient, and describe contrast-enhanced mammography implementation in a working practice.
  • Interpret breast MRI using the current BI-RADS lexicon, and distinguish its role in screening from its role in diagnostic problem solving.
  • Select and perform image-guided breast intervention appropriate to the lesion, including ultrasound-guided and tomosynthesis-guided needle biopsy.
  • Describe the current state of artificial intelligence in breast imaging — from detection through future risk prediction — and recognize how bias in these systems presents at the workstation.
  • Recognize the characteristic patterns of the missed mammographic lesion and describe the search behaviours that reduce them.
  • Evaluate supplemental and high-risk screening options, including 3D automated breast ultrasound and molecular breast imaging, and communicate findings and recommendations effectively to patients.
