Required for Upper Quadrant Dry Needling Certification. The Upper Quadrant Dry Needling 2 course features lectures on the scientific basis and etiology of myofascial pain and peripheral and central sensitization. This course used to be known as the OT/CH DN-2 course.
The Upper Quadrant Dry Needling 2 course features lectures on the scientific basis and etiology of myofascial pain and peripheral and central sensitization. This course will include many muscles commonly addressed in clinical practice, such as the supraspinatus, levator scapulae, posterior cervicals (including cervical multifidi), thoracic and lumbar multifidi, quadratus lumborum, pectoralis minor, coracobrachialis, rhomboids (serratus posterior superior, middle trapezius), short thumb muscles, interossei (palmar/dorsal), lumbricals, abductor digiti minimi, flexor digiti minimi and opponens digiti minimi, sternocleidomastoid, and scalenes. Students will review the anatomy, function, and dry needling techniques for each muscle.
