The Successful Management of Peri-Implant Diseases
Course Description:
Dental implants are an important treatment approach for managing a broad range of clinical problems. They are not however, immune to biologic complications which if not treated in a timely manner, can threaten dental implant survival. Peri-implant mucositis is an inflammatory biologic complication affecting the surrounding soft tissue of a dental implant while peri-implantitis, which may be a progression of peri-implant mucositis, involves loss of supporting bone beyond physiologic bone remodeling. More information is coming out in the literature on how to best manage these two problems and the dilemma is what to do given that most approaches are supported by limited case report evidence. This lecture will explore both some of the causes and treatment options available for these biologic complications, providing some of their risks, limitations and benefits. Emphasis will be given to decision making between regenerative and resective surgical approaches to treatment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the limitations to non-surgical approaches for treating peri-implantitis.
  • Discuss how emerging technologies like the Nd:YAG laser may warrant consideration.
  • Discuss possible reasons why some attempts at surgical therapy for peri-implantitis have failed and how both regenerative and resective therapy can succeed.

Integrating Orofacial Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, and Mental Resilience for a Sustainable and Innovative Practice
Course Description:
In today's dynamic dental landscape, success hinges on more than just technical expertise. This course offers a comprehensive approach to modern dental practice by combining the Iatest research in orofacial analysis, the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (Al), and the critical importance of mental resilience. Dentists will learn to enhance esthetic and functional outcomes through advanced orofacial techniques, harness Al to elevate clinical and business performance, and build the mental resilience necessary for long-term career sustainability. Mastering these three essential domains will equip participants to thrive in an increasingly complex and competitive field.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply the Lip Factor technique to restore lips to a youthful, ideal position, enhancing overall facial aesthetics.
  • Learn best practices for integrating Al into daily operations to optimize patient outcomes and increase practice revenue.
  • Integrate an orofacial approach in treatment planning to improve incisal display and facial balance.
  • Develop essential mental resilience skills to manage stress, lead effectively, and sustain a successful and fulfilling dental career.
  • Understand current Al tools available in dentistry and their real-world impact on clinical care and practice management.
