Minimally Invasive and Endoluminal Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Advanced Course is organized by Research Institute Against Digestive Cancer / Institut de Recherche contre les Cancers de l'Appareil Digestif (IRCAD) and will be held from Dec 16 - 19, 2026 at IRCAD France, Strasbourg, Grand Est, France.

Full immersion in bariatric surgery:

  • Join us for a full week of bariatric courses dedicated to robotic, endoluminal and minimally invasive surgery.
  • These full immersion workshops are intended for bariatric surgeons, fellows, and residents in training across the world.
  • They have been structured to provide didactic lectures, surgical video demonstrations, and hands-on practice in standard bariatric surgery on ex vivo models and live tissue, or anatomical specimens.
  • In addition to this 4-day laparoscopic and endoscopic training, an optional 2-day course will provide a unique opportunity to discover or improve skills in robotic bariatric surgery.
  • It is a perfect way for surgeons already familiar with laparoscopic and endoluminal techniques to complete their skills.
  • A panel of world-renowned leaders in this ?eld of expertise will deliver lectures focusing on bariatric surgery including standard techniques, pitfalls, complications, and redo surgery.

Course objectives:

  • To cover a broad spectrum of surgical procedures in minimally invasive and endoluminal bariatric and metabolic surgery
  • To provide indications for surgical treatment and discuss operative complications
  • To highlight technicalities of surgical interventions through the broadcasting of live procedures
  • To allow a real-time discussion between the operators and the trainee surgeons
  • To provide hands-on sessions to improve skills in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery through practice on live tissue and ex vivo models under expert tutorial
  • To describe postoperative clinical results and practical applications of evidence-based clinical medicine
