OVERVIEW

Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography (ACCE) Image Acquisition and Interpretation 2026 is organized by American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and will be held from Jun 04 - 05, 2026 at CHEST Global Headquarters, Glenview, Illinois, United States of America.

Description: For practitioners who specialize in critical care, advanced critical care echocardiography (ACCE) is extremely useful in guiding the hemodynamic management of cardiopulmonary failure. The interactive learning experiences in this advanced-level course will help you perform and interpret a full advanced critical care echocardiography exam. This course is best suited for individuals who are comfortable with focused cardiac point-of-care ultrasonography.

Our expert faculty members—all certified by the National Board of Echocardiography—will guide you through intensive training on image acquisition, image interpretation, and the cognitive basis of advanced critical care echocardiography. As you work to gain mastery of the?full ACCE image set, you’ll review a broad spectrum of ACCE findings and focus on the practical applications of echocardiography.

Explore CHEST’s five-part simulation course series on critical care image interpretation and application:

  • Ultrasonography: Essentials in Critical Care
  • Critical Care Ultrasound: Integration Into Clinical Practice?
  • Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography Image Acquisition and Interpretation?
  • Critical Care Echocardiography Exam (CCEeXAM) Virtual Board Review
  • Critical Care Transesophageal Echocardiography immediately follows this course at CHEST HQ on June 6, 2026. It is recommended to attend both courses back-to-back.

What you'll learn:

  • Hands-on skills in performing the full image set of the ACCE transthoracic echocardiographic (TTE) examination
  • Hands-on skills for interpreting the full ACCE TTE examination and integrating the findings into your clinical context
  • How to incorporate doppler (continuous wave, pulse wave, tissue doppler and color) measurements into your echocardiography exam
  • Approaches to measuring stroke volume, indices of preload sensitivity, left-sided?filling pressures, intracardiac pressures, right- and left-sided heart function, and valvular function
