Description:
We have a variety of standardized surgical techniques and modern implants available for the surgical treatment of spinal injuries. The development of anatomically appropriate access routes and percutaneous stabilization techniques has reduced access morbidity. New implants increase anchorage in the bone, which is particularly effective in the osteoporotic bone structure of older people. Our course offers intensive knowledge transfer from spinal experts and practical experience with proven and new implants in hands-on workshops. Dorsal and ventral stabilization procedures, as well as the surgical technique for cement augmentation of vertebral bodies, are demonstrated in small groups and performed by participants. Emphasis is placed on modern hygiene guidelines for patient positioning and draping, as well as the preparation of spinal instruments. Physicians and surgical nursing experts will support you to achieve successful collaboration as a surgical team. In an exceptional course setting, you can discuss proven methods and innovations with these experts.

Goal
In addition to intensive knowledge transfer through overview lectures by spine experts, hands-on workshops are also offered, allowing you to gain practical experience with established and new implants. In small groups, you can practice dorsal and ventral stabilization procedures, as well as surgical techniques in combination with navigation and endoscopy. An additional focus of the course is the presentation of patient positioning and draping techniques, as well as the procedures for reprocessing spinal instruments.

Objectives:
To ensure successful collaboration as a collaborative surgical team, you will be supervised by both physicians and surgical nursing experts. With these experts, you will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions about tried-and-tested methods as well as innovations in an exceptional course setting.
