OVERVIEW

Advanced Dry Needling is organized by Institute of Clinical Excellence (ICE) and will be held from Oct 02 - 04, 2026 at Onward Physical Therapy, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America.

Description:
Dry Needling Certification:
Advanced Dry Needling by ICE Physio will bring research-based innovation to your dry needling practice. This full-body course designed for experienced DN clinicians builds on the tactical e-stim applications from Upper & Lower DN - targeting peripheral nerves, tendons, and the most technical muscular targets; and also covers DN techniques for scar tissue needling and acute contusions. Our goal with this course is not only to provide a masterclass experience and train expert-level professionals, but shift the entire dry needling paradigm and expand how we use this tool clinically.

Participants will also have access to pre-course lecture content including an updated research appraisal, and therapeutic mechanisms of tendon needling, scar needling, peripheral nerve stim and neuromodulation; as well as individual technique video demonstrations to prepare for the lab intensive component and reference after the course.

Objectives:

  • Analyze most recent dry needling research and how this impacts clinical applications and practice trends
  • Demonstrate safety and proficient skills with dry needling techniques of more advanced anatomical tissue targets, including peripheral nerves, tendons, scar tissue, and specific muscles
  • Investigate the research-based therapeutic mechanisms for peripheral nerve stimulation, scar needling, tendon needling, and needling for acute contusions.
  • Identify contraindications and precautions associated with advanced techniques including peripheral nerve stimulation, scar needling, tendon needling, and needling for acute contusions
  • Identify relevant myofascial and neurovascular anatomy associated with proper and effective application of dry needling
  • Discuss adverse events associated with ribcage dry needling techniques and incidence affiliated with these techniques
  • Demonstrate strategic and effective execution of indwelling electrical stimulation circuits for the clinical management of nerve-related injuries, scar rehab, pain, and general orthopedic conditions
