Southern Academy of Periodontology (SAP) 2025 Winter Seminar is organized by Southern Academy of Periodontology (SAP) and will be held from Jan 24 - 25, 2025 at Charlotte Marriott City Center, Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America.
Description:
Implementing digital technology in replacing missing teeth in the aesthetic zone has become a focal point in contemporary implant practice. However, to predictably achieve optimal outcomes, understanding of both biological concepts and digital workflows is crucial. Initial treatment planning with such concepts at the forefront allows for practitioners to deliver care that is ideally prosthetically driven and biologically executed. Such an approach results in an esthetic final restorative outcome that can be maintained in health by developing ideal soft tissue thickness and contour. Several techniques and materials may be utilized for successful soft tissue augmentation at implant sites to enhance esthetics and peri-implant health. This presentation course seeks to highlight the need to implement evidenced-based periodontal treatment protocols coupled with the integration of digital technology and soft tissue grafting to achieve favorable dental implant outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completing this course, attendees will:
• Learn about the advantages of digital versus analog protocol when making surgical guides, provisional restorations and final prosthesis.
• Critically evaluate various provisional restoration options, including dental implant emergence profile and pontic site development
• Discuss the principles of immediate implant placement and loading protocols
• Understand the rationale and best practices for mucogingival procedures to optimize esthetic and oral health outcomes for immediate and delayed implant placement
• Assess possible surgical and prosthetic pitfalls and complications and potential strategies to avoid and repair such outcomes.
