In April 2025, Kyoto, bathed in the blossoms of sakura, will host the Orthodontic Congress by OHI-S. This event will bring together orthodontists from around the world, offering a unique opportunity to immerse in the Japanese art of orthodontic treatment. 

Renowned Japanese specialists, Sadao Sato, Satoshi Aoki, Hisao Murakami, Masamitsu Takahashi, and Takao Minamidate, will share their cutting-edge approaches, inspiring new discoveries. You will meet the finest representatives of the Japanese school of orthodontics and explore innovative approaches in aligner therapy, extraction cases, the use of TADs, comprehensive orthodontic treatment of malocclusion and TMJ dysfunctions.

Orthodontic treatment according to the developmental mechanism of malocclusion. Key points of non-extraction and non-surgical orthodontic treatment

– Maxillofacial growth and changes in occlusal vertical height and occlusal plane
– Adaptation of the mandible to changes in occlusal vertical height and occlusal plane
– Why extraction of premolars and surgical procedures are necessary?
– Relationship between occlusal plane inclination and mandibular adaptation changes
– Effectiveness of orthodontic treatment in the treatment of malocclusion with TMD. 

Satoshi AOKI

Orthodontic treatment based on diagnosis and examination considering jaw function

– Examination and diagnostic methods considering functional elements
– Symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorders and jaw function tests
– The importance of premolars and considerations for extractions
– Setting the therapeutic mandibular position, and understanding occlusal planes and vertical dimension
