With the apt motto "Excellence through Evidence," the conference president formulated the obligation for research to create the foundation and basis for evidence-based and excellent patient treatment. The first topic of discussion focuses on the prevention-oriented nature of our field, while the second discusses the current possibilities of Class II therapy. Open lectures and poster presentations then complement the discussion topics and reflect the broad research activities in the field of orthodontics. The parallel symposium once again offers our young researchers a proven presentation forum.

Science and practical orthodontics share the common goal of contributing to evidence-based and optimal orthodontic care for the population. In this context, I would like to explicitly point out, in addition to the day for the practice team, the new Forum for Practical Orthodontics introduced by our conference president this year.

The accompanying trade exhibition will once again provide all visitors with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with and test important, proven and new products from the dental industry related to orthodontics in one place.

Under the guiding theme of "Excellence through Evidence," the two main topics "Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry – Interdisciplinary Treatment Concepts" and "Class II Therapy" will be explored in the tried-and-tested format of keynote lectures, short scientific presentations, and poster presentations.

The focus on the first day of the congress will be on prevention-oriented orthodontics, treatment of MIH, and gap management in the mixed dentition. On the second and third days of the congress, as well as at the pre-congress, the various approaches to Class II therapy will be presented and discussed. Scientific evidence and clinical excellence will go hand in hand, and national and international speakers will present both relevant clinical studies and excellent clinical cases. In addition, the parallel scientific symposium will once again offer our young scientists the opportunity to present the latest findings from basic research.

The symbiosis between science and practical orthodontics will also be reflected in the accompanying scientific program. In addition to the already established day for the practice team, a forum for practical orthodontics will be held for the first time under the motto "Trends under scrutiny - Orthodontics in everyday practice" with short presentations followed by a discussion on Saturday morning. This new event will take place as an open discussion forum on the market square in the trade exhibition to promote the exchange of participants with each other and with specialist providers within the framework of the proven, accompanying trade exhibition.
