Why ESID-EHA-SIOPE 2025?
In recent years, the intersection between immunodeficiencies, haematologic conditions, and oncology has become ever more apparent. As we witness increasing complexity in patient diagnoses and treatments, the need for a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach is more critical than ever. This symposium aims to provide a comprehensive platform for exploring how immunodeficiencies can influence hematologic and oncologic conditions and vice versa, and how each specialty offers unique insights that contribute to improving diagnosis, treatment, and management strategies.
This symposium is an important opportunity for fellows, researchers and junior faculty to report and highlight novel basic and clinical information on this interplay of immunodeficiencies and malignant and non-malignant hematological diseases. They are encouraged to submit abstracts related to the keynote topics.

- Evaluate the pathophysiological links between autoimmune hematology, immunodeficiencies, and malignancies to enhance integrated diagnostic and treatment strategies.
- Analyze the diagnostic approaches in hematology, immunology, and histopathology for complex immunodeficiency-related lymphoproliferative disorders.
- Identify the genetic and somatic factors contributing to genetically determined cytopenia and bone marrow failure syndromes to improve patient diagnosis and management.
- Apply knowledge of monogenic syndromes in hematopoiesis to deepen understanding of hematologic malignancies and disorders.
- Compare the different treatment strategies for hematological alloimmunity, including approaches in allogeneic HSCT, platelet alloimmunity, and neonatal hematology.
- Assess the role of immune deficiencies in predisposing individuals to malignancy and understand new genes and mechanisms involved in cancer predisposition.
- Discuss the management of secondary immune disorders (SID) in patients undergoing CAR T cell therapy, and explore treatment options beyond CAR T.
- Develop an understanding of treatment protocols for malignancies in immunocompromised patients, including children with PID and patients with AT, to improve therapeutic decision-making.
