Pathology of the Gingiva and Management
Course Description
This course will provide an in-depth discussion of gingival pathology including inflammatory conditions such as lichen planus, autoimmune blistering diseases such as pemphigoid, nodular gingival lesions and their molecular profiles, infectious conditions such as herpetic stomatitis, odontogenic cysts and tumors, and leukoplakia and carcinoma. It will also discuss conventional and novel management for all of the above conditions, and follow-up strategies to optimize your patient’s health.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the talk, the participant:
• Will be familiar with all the common pathologies that present on the gingiva
• Will understand how to perform an optimum biopsy for gingival lesions
• Should be confident in choosing and prescribing the best topical steroids for management of inflammatory gingival conditions
• Will understand that gingival leukoplakias are precancerous lesions and how best to manage them.
Mastering the Business of Dentistry
Course Description
Dr. Toback led a successful perio practice for 20 years prior to a pivotal decision to scale a collaborative family of dental practices after acquiring referral offices. Dr. Toback will provide a glimpse into the life of a periodontist transitioning into the world of dental business.
