The rhythmic rubs according to Ita Wegman and Margarethe Hauschka were developed specifically for health and nursing staff. They offer the possibility of extended care in which people are recorded and treated as individual beings and therefore in their entirety. By gently rhythmically binding and loosening the tissue, impulses are created that support the self-healing powers and activate the heat balance. They can be used, for example, to prevent thrombosis and pressure sores or therapeutically for pain. The treatment affects the person not only externally, but also internally. It is also very effective for restlessness, anxiety and sleep disorders.

The training to become an expert in rhythmic rubs consists of two levels of competence that build on each other and last approximately the same amount of time.

Level II serves to deepen the partial and whole body rubs. New additions include organ rubs, the pentagram rub and rubs for all ages, especially for children and infants as well as for dementia, including their theoretical foundations.
We look at the similarities and differences with rhythmic massage. It is also about being able to use substances in a targeted, appropriate and situation-appropriate manner. In order to ensure the quality of one's own work, care should be taken to ensure that human-related references are made in everything that is done. It is also important to seek collaboration with others, to continue your professional and personal training and to keep an eye on the development of rhythmic rubs.
Completing Level II ends the entire further training. The following evidence must be provided: state recognition as a nurse, a recommendation from the course instructor for admission to the examination, another 50 hours of self-study and 30 written treatment documentation.
Two treatment reports from different specialist areas must be submitted in the form of an essay with a human diagnosis, implementation description and evaluation. The examination consists of an oral presentation of this paper, followed by a technical discussion. Afterwards, two rubs of your own choice from two areas will be demonstrated and explained.
