Description:
Palliative care is a holistic care concept for patients who are in the advanced stages of an incurable illness and the complex problems associated with it. This requires symptom-oriented, creative, individual care as well as dealing with the topics of dying, death and grief in a protected atmosphere. What is crucial for qualified accompaniment and care of these seriously ill people is not only the acquisition of technical but also psychosocial skills to increase the quality of interpersonal relationships. It is necessary that the professional companions develop a common level of knowledge and learn to implement their comprehensive knowledge in a practice-oriented manner. Our qualification measure conveys topics that are part of the basic understanding of palliative care and hospice work and is primarily geared towards everyday requirements.
