Follow-up Course 'pelvic Floor Complaints and Sexuality' is organized by Netherlands Paramedical Institute (NPi) / Nederlands Paramedisch Instituut (NPi) and will be held from Mar 08 - Apr 12, 2024 at Cape Doorn Conference Centre, Doornspijk, Gelderland, Netherlands.
Description
Sexology and pelvic physiotherapy come together in this 3-day follow-up course.
The sexual problems of people with pelvic floor complaints are central. Inventorying and treating these complaints naturally requires specific knowledge and skills. But your own norms, values ??and boundaries regarding sexuality also play a crucial role. This has major consequences for contact with clients.
Doctor-sexologist Anneke van Loevesijn and (pediatric) pelvic physiotherapist Jolanda van Haeften pay attention - in addition to transferring knowledge - to their own attitude towards sexuality. They discuss common sexual complaints, discuss the influence of sexual violence/negative sexual experiences and explain how you can deal with them.
Together with the other students you will work on (further) developing skills to diagnose and treat sexual complaints.
• On day 1 you will learn more about sexuality, what role the pelvic floor plays and how you deal with it as a physiotherapist. The afternoon program focuses on 'talking about sexuality', one's own norms and values ??and pelvic floor awareness.
• Day 2 focuses on sexual dysfunctions, overactivity, exercise therapy and negative sexual experiences.
• On day 3 you will learn, using examples and case studies, about: sexological care, limits to action, haptonomic feeling and a multidisciplinary approach to sexual complaints.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
