OVERVIEW

CPR and Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office is organized by Second District Dental Society of New York (SDDSNY) and will be held on Dec 13, 2024 at Second District Dental Society Headquarters, Brooklyn, New York, United States of America.

Synopsis:
This course provides dentists and their staffs with the knowledge and skills needed to properly respond to cardiopulmonary and other medical emergencies which can occur in dental offices. The specific advantages and disadvantages of performing CPR within the dental operatory will be discussed. This program utilizes hands-on practice sessions for all participants. Topics to be covered will include heart attacks and strokes (signs and symptoms), sudden cardiac arrest/defibrillation, airway obstruction (choking), respiratory emergencies, anaphylactic reactions, emergency drug kits and more.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to administer CPR safely and effectively. Completion of this course will also satisfy the New York State Education Department’s requirement for licensed dentists.
