Description of needs:
Diseases of the locomotor organs together account for approximately 20 percent of all doctor visits in primary care and are a very common cause of reduced work ability and long-term sick leave. It is therefore necessary for all doctors, but especially general practitioners, to be able to investigate, diagnose and treat these conditions. For society, costs arise when resources are used to diagnose and treat diseases. There are also costs when the diseases prevent people from working and carrying out everyday activities. (1) Diseases of the musculoskeletal system also account for approx. 13% of the total costs of healthcare (approx. SEK 872 billion for 2017), in second place after mental illnesses which account for a total of 24% and far ahead of diseases of the circulatory organs, around 9 percent and tumors which account for just under 8 percent.
