Current Topics in Cardiology and Lipidology is organized by Continuing Education, Inc. and will be held from Jan 06 - 15, 2023 at Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas, San Juan, Puerto Rico, United States of America.

Program Purpose:
These lectures are intended to provide medical care providers interested in the practice of clinical cardiology, the prevention, and management of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and lipid management a review of the clinical applicability and evidence-base for the most recent standards of care in diagnosis and therapy. These healthcare providers function as the captain of the healthcare team in the outpatient and inpatient setting. By coordinating resources amongst mid-level providers, nurses, pharmacists, medical assistants, and administrative support staff, the primary care provider can help achieve optimal clinical outcomes for their patients afflicted by cardiovascular diseases. To fulfil this mission, the provider must understand the risks and benefits, costs, clinical pitfalls, and limitations of evaluation and treatment strategies advocated by current practice standards and guidelines.

• Assessment of Acute Chest Pain
       • Apply appropriate risk stratification of the chest pain patient to deliver the best clinical outcomes and optimally use health care resources
• Management of Acute Coronary Artery Syndrome
       • Deliver best clinical outcomes and optimally use health care resources by rapid and cost-effective triage of patients presenting with acute coronary artery syndromes.
• Management of Congestive Heart Failure
       • Deliver the best clinical outcomes and optimally use health care resources by understanding novel cardiac imaging modalities and pharmacotherapies available to clinicians in both the inpatient and outpatient management of congestive heart failure
• Management of Venous Thromboembolism: DVT and Pulmonary Embolism
       • Introduce novel treatment strategies for the prevention and management, that incorporate outpatient and inpatient options for therapy, and reduce morbidity and mortality
• Cardiac Risk Assessment: Risk calculators and Cardiac Imaging
       • Reduce risk to patients of major adverse cardiovascular events through early detection and institution of evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Management of Hyperlipidemia
       • Apply evidence-based criteria to incorporate lifestyle interventions and all available pharmacotherapy options for patients at risk for, or those with atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
• Anticoagulation for Atrial Fibrillation
       • Avoid unnecessary use of anticoagulant therapies in patients at low risk for thromboembolic events, and optimize the use of newer and safer direct oral anticoagulant therapies.
