Cervical Bio-Skills Lab is organized by Spine Intervention Society (SIS) and will be held from Jun 24 - 25, 2023 at VirtuOHSU, Portland, Oregon, United States of America.
Description:
Performing cervical interventional procedures is not simply moving from the back to the neck with a higher level of precision and care. When you attend the SIS Cervical Bio-Skills Lab, you will learn SIS’s evidence-based techniques specific to treating the challenging cervical region. With 14 hours of hands-on lab instruction, this course provides the foundation for the Advanced Cervical Course.
Your hands-on lab learning will be exclusively on Saturday and Sunday, so you won’t have to sacrifice a single valuable weekday away from your patients.
When you register for the SIS Cervical Bio-Skills Lab you will receive exclusive online access to SIS’s cervical lecture modules. An integral part of the program, they must be successfully completed prior to attempting the hands-on portions of the lab - enhancing the rigor of your learning experience.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Analyze the imaging depiction of the relevant anatomy;
• Relate patient history and physical exam findings with imaging to achieve a likely diagnosis of the spinal pathology causing the patient’s pain or dysfunction;
• Describe the literature support for the efficacy of the procedures;
• Identify the risks and benefits of each procedure, as well as assessment, prevention, and treatment of potential complications;
• Apply technically correct performance of the spinal procedures using safe fluoroscopic guidance with minimal tissue injury or discomfort.
