Description:
In hardly any branch of medicine are regular interdisciplinary further training and the transfer of knowledge about the latest research results on diagnostics and therapy as important as in oncology. In addition, there is the need to train interdisciplinary thinking, develop team spirit, and cultivate supra-regional cooperation. For the more effective use of resources in the healthcare system and for integrated patient care, outpatient and clinical areas of activity must be closely interlinked.

The working group Gynecological Oncology eV (AGO), the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics eV (DGGG), and the German Society for Senology eV (DGS) see a central task in the dissemination of the current state of knowledge and the quality controls of oncological treatments by concentrating on a network of organ and therapy-specific topics and studies. Experts from the responsible organ commissions of the AGO and NOGGO, therefore, designed the six-day certification course "Oncological Diagnostics and Therapy", which takes place twice a year in Kassel. 32 experienced and well-known colleagues present the current state of knowledge in the diagnosis and therapy of gynecological tumors in 32 thematic units of 60 minutes each, as well as the disciplines that interact with it, such as radiation oncology, palliative medicine, and psycho-oncology. After passing the exam, this high level of training is documented by a personal specialist certificate.

This certification for gynecological oncology comprises three organ-related sections on the topics of breast cancer, ovarian and tubal cancer, cervical and endometrial cancer as well as vulva-vaginal cancer and other gynecological tumors. Surgical, medicinal, and radiotherapeutic treatment principles and complications of gynecological tumor diseases are presented in a practical manner, as are immuno-oncological and supportive measures. This AGO certification course is used by many participants to prepare for the specialist examination or to prepare for obtaining the specialization "Gynecological Oncology".

Objective:
This certificate is designed for all oncologists already working in the clinic or branch as well as doctors in training who see their field of activity in gynecological oncology or later intend to do aftercare and drug-based tumor therapy in the practice.

The personal certificates issued at the end of a cycle are valid for five years.
