Program Purpose:
Many changes have taken place in the field of women's health creating significant implications for those who care for female patients. This program is designed to provide participants with current up to date information in order to provide the very best in contemporary patient care. Unique to the lecture format is the diagnosis of a variety of conditions unique to female patients and management of these conditions in both an outpatient as well as an inpatient critical care setting. Participants should be able to apply this new knowledge immediately into clinical practice. A multi-discipline, integrated approach to patient care is emphasized with an eye towards quality improvement and overall health care team performance.

Topics:
• Chronic Venous Insufficiency
   ○ Apply appropriate diagnostic approaches to evaluate and treat patients across the entire spectrum of CVI
• Pelvic Phlebology
   ○ Identify causes and sequelae of CVI unique to the pelvic anatomy in female patients
• Pelvic Pain/Endometriosis
   ○ Analyze pelvic pain in the clinical setting of endometriosis and differentiate between dysmenorrhea, non-menstrual pelvic pain and pain with intercourse
• Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Androgen Excess
   ○ Develop a cost-effective thorough plan for addressing PCOS and its sequelae in patients who do and do not want to conceive
• Ultrasound in OB/GYN
   ○ Appreciate the role of ultrasound in the evaluation of obstetrical and gynecological patients
• Postpartum Hemorrhage
   ○ Identification and early recognition of postpartum hemorrhage and appropriate diagnostic testing
• Hypertension/Preeclampsia/ Eclampsia
   ○ New diagnostic criteria for the diagnosis of preeclapmsia and critical care intrapartum management of hypertension
• AKI in ICU
   ○ Identify AKI in ICU
• Treatment and prevention of AKI in ICU
Optimize prevention and treatment of AKI
• Renal replacement therapy(RRT) in ICU / MOST / MARS
   ○ Utilize most appropriate renal replacement therapies for various patients
• Fluids
   ○ Accurately prescribe the correct fluids for the correct uses
• Adjusting medications in AKI in ICU / RRT
   ○ Assess glomerular filtration rate and adjust medications accordingly
• Eye Care and other protocols in the ICU
   ○ Adequately protect the patient's eyes Protocols
• Elderly in ICU
   ○ Identify which elderly patients will benefit from ICU
