Description:
Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a non-invasive, painless procedure for electrical stimulation of the brain. Direct current is applied via electrodes attached to the scalp, which changes cortical excitability and neuronal activity.

The tDCS  has been researched for the treatment of various pain syndromes and to support rehabilitation measures for 10 years. A number of double-blind and open studies have found positive effects of tDCS.

Content of the event:
The course provides you with basic knowledge of non-invasive brain stimulation. In the theoretical part you will learn how the tDCS works on a neurophysiological level. In addition, we will give you an overview of the areas of application of tDCS that have already been researched in the context of pain treatment and rehabilitation and we will discuss how this new approach can complement existing treatment offers. In the practical exercise, we will show you how to use the tDCS devices in therapy on patients and discuss aspects relating to the safety of the method.
