WIT 2020 - 38th Viennese intensive care days is organized by Austrian Society for Internal Medicine and General Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine / obsterreichische gesellschaft fur internisische und fur internistische und allgemeine intensivemedizin und notfallmedizin (OGIAIN) and will be held from Feb 12 - 15, 2020 at Vienna General Hospital, Vienna, Wien, Austria.
Theme: "Interdisciplinary problems in emergency and intensive care".
Description:
Intensivists and especially emergency physicians are the last "universalist" modern medicine, they can be confronted with virtually any acute medical problem and must therefore in their education acquire a very wide range of expertise.
Emergency and intensive care physicians are often confronted with special problems from non-medical / non-anesthetic departments, for which they require advice and support from special subjects, if they are not subject-specific intensive care units.
In these situations, the intensive care and emergency physicians must ensure adequate primary diagnostics and acute care before experts from specific specialist areas can be consulted or patients can be transferred to specialized wards. Therefore, intensive and Emergency physicians also acquire a basic knowledge for these special situations.
WIT-2020 will discuss such situations as pregnancy complications, severe skin changes, acute psychiatric conditions, eye injuries, neurological, urological acute problems, scalds, burns or emergency care for children.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available
