Barkley & Associates, Inc. invites you to attend the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners in Acute Care (NPAC) 2020! Meet over 900 colleagues expected to visit from across the country as we celebrate with this year’s conference theme, Let the Good Times Roll, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.
From the past great evaluations and requests, 6 Advanced Procedures Workshops (APWs) and 7 additional Pre-Conferences will kick off the session on Wednesday and Thursday, October 21-22, 2020. The exceptional APWs are intended to be fully hands-on with different faculty attention, while the 7 other Pre-Conferences will be filled with important information for all nurse practitioners (NPs) who work with acutely ill adults.
Back by popular demand, the Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) Program will be given again as a Pre-Conference! This extensive course assists NPs in improving patient care ends during the first hours of a patient’s neurological emergency. The 8 full hours of instructor-led training will run Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. If attendees wish, this CE credit can be used as part of the requirement to obtain ENLS Certification.
As accommodations are limited, especially for the APWs, ensure to register early to ensure your spot. As in past years, come early to sharpen your skills in several of NPAC’s offerings prior to the start of the main conference!
A final opportunity to develop advanced system skills will be offered on Sunday after the closing session as a Post-Conference. Procedure Workshop: Advanced Suturing will offer an in-depth, hands-on experience for those needing to further develop techniques in suturing beyond the basics.
Complete conference registration is open all day on Thursday, October 22, 2020, and the main phase commences at 5:00 p.m. Following opening remarks, the conference Keynote Address will be given by Cindy L. Munro, PhD, ANP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, FAAS, Dean and Professor, University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Directly following, we will adjourn to what will be another remarkable Welcome Reception and Grand Opening of the Exhibits. Take advantage of all the exhibitors have to offer while networking, partaking in drinks, and enjoying hors d’oeuvres in the picturesque Sheraton New Orleans setting.
Unlike other conferences that emphasizes numerous break-out sessions, the NPAC conference endeavors to bring all NPs who practice with acutely ill adults collectively as one to enjoy outstanding general sessions. A diverse session with topics related to everyone remains all day Friday and Saturday, as well as Sunday morning. All NPAC sessions are presented by conference faculty with both national and international reputations. The conference speakers are all simply second to none!
While the day is long to capitalize on CE credit, there will not be a session to be missed. Attendees also have a chance to benefit from two peer-reviewed attendee Poster Sessions held on Friday and Saturday which will highlight the most recent research and scholarly projects and activities by NPs in acute care.
Late Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, the conference focus shifts to the latest Pharmacology Updates in Acute Care, allowing attendees to maximize their pharmacology CE requirements.
In between a long weekend of learning and networking, I hope you also remember to explore all that Sheraton New Orleans Hotel and the city’s authentic vibe have to offer. The entire Conference Committee is excited to be able to host NPAC 2020 in such a beautiful city.
Take the time to come network, learn, re-charge, and enjoy. I look forward to seeing you on October 21-25, 2020 for what I know will be another amazing conference to celebrate the success of all nurse practitioners and advanced practice nurses working in acute care!
