Who should attend this course? 
It is aimed specifically for GPs and medical professionals who are new to the field of ultrasound and have little/ no scanning experience.

Accreditation:
This course provides 6 CPD points in accordance with the CPD scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists.

Structure: 
This one day course provides an excellent opportunity to gain a good practical introduction to medical imaging techniques, their application and scanning experience on live models. The course is a combination of theory lectures, demonstrations and practical workshop sessions. Our highly experienced faculty welcome questions and will take you through any queries and

The initial lectures and associated workshop will cover the three main ultrasound modalities, including B-scan and colour doppler, where the emphasis will be on familiarisation and manipulating equipment controls to optimise image and signal quality.

Our top faculty will then introduce their specialisms, demonstrating the basic and specialist applications of the following techniques and answering any questions, This will then be followed by supervised individual scanning guidance in small groups.
• General abdominal and aortic anerysm,
• Emergency FAST imaging,
• Musculoskeletal (MSK)
• Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

Practical workshops: An exhibition/workshop of the latest ultrasound systems, will be held throughout the day. The workshops will be available for delegates to gain supervised training and practical experience in the use of ultrasound techniques and different machines.
