Blended Introduction to Abdominal and Primary Care Ultrasound Training Course covers abdominal, trauma, thyroid, scrotal, and soft-tissue applications. This format combines a comprehensive online course with lectures by leading abdominal & primary care ultrasound experts and offers fifteen (15) months unlimited access, plus a (1) one full day (6 hours) hands-on scan workshop with a 3:1 participant to instructor hands-on scan ratio at our facility in St. Petersburg, FL. For the most realistic and effective learning experience, live human models are utilized for the hands-on portion. This format is the perfect solution for the busy medical professional that requires the flexibility to complete the coursework at their convenience from home, work, or even your mobile device, yet still needs the hands-on skills training to become confident and competent to perform Abdominal and Primary Care Ultrasound Applications. Objectives:
• Increase participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret abdominal ultrasound examinations.
• Demonstrate proper transducer manipulation and system optimization to produce diagnostic images.
• Perform scan protocols and routine measurements that are utilized during an abdominal ultrasound evaluation.
• Identify normal/abnormal imaging characteristics of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and abdominal vasculature.
• Differentiate normal/abnormal characteristics for the evaluation of the thyroid, testes/scrotum, and appendix.
• Perform an ultrasound evaluation of the trauma patient (FAST exam).
• Demonstrate the use of ultrasound for the evaluation of soft-tissue pathology.
• Increase confidence to incorporate protocols, scan techniques & interpretation criteria to improve diagnostic/treatment accuracy.
