Course Description:
This symposium is led by experts in the fields of Medical and Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Population Health, and Pulmonary Medicine.

Day one highlights advances in lung cancer screening and a health equity perspective to screening services. Day one concludes with a discussion of surgical approaches and immunotherapy for the practicing physician. Day two starts off with a scholarly discourse of oligometastases in lung cancer and MRI-Guided radiation. Day two will also engage you in lively, interactive case-based discussions, a mock tumor board, and critical deliberations on the state of current knowledge, clinical approaches, differential diagnoses, and management options for lung cancer.

Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of the program the participants should be able to:
• Understand and discuss best practices with regard to how Lung Cancer Screening can be implemented to help identify and prevent early stage lung cancers.
• Review current approach to both early stage and advanced lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.
• Offer an opportunity to discuss and debate challenging cases which can illustrate the principles of effective management of lung cancer in 2020.
• Incorporate current immunotherapy medications for their specific indications in patients with lung cancer, as supported by high-level evidence.
• Describe the active large ongoing Phase III clinical trials of SBRT in oligometastatic lung cancer and know how to enroll patients in such trials.
• Review and apply the potential benefits of the MR-GRT and specific emerging indications for the MR-GRT in patients with lung cancer.
• Summarize the benefits of the robotic lobectomy for patients with lung cancer with regard to the oncologic control and quality of life issues.
• Understand and illustrate how EBUS and Navigational Bronchoscopy can be utilized to more efficiently and effectively stage lung cancer at the time of diagnosis and guide therapeutic decisions including those decisions around surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.
• Discover the need to have an ongoing alliance with an interprofessional team whose
expertise/perspective is critical in the clinical decision-making process.
• Illustrate best practices in collaboration, communication, and analysis of guidelines,
literature, and experience.
• Apply innovative treatment strategies and benefits of working with an interdisciplinary team to their clinical practice.
• Modify their treatment plans to incorporate scenarios from the simulated real life cases at the mock tumor board.
• Describe patient and family sources of hesitancy to enroll in clinical trials.
• Integrate awareness of patient concerns into their shared decision making processes.
• Evaluate the potential impact of the Decision Counseling Program© as described in the growing literature, and ultimately, as further validated and formalized, for use in their practice. 
• Understand the approach to shared decision-making fostering patient-centered
decisions in whether or not to proceed with low-dose CT for lung cancer screening.
• Appreciate how nurse navigation for lung cancer screening can improve adherence, improve patient's satisfaction, shorten time to follow-up, and increase referral for incidental findings.
• Understand the new onset approach to developing lung cancer screening for vulnerable populations in an Urban setting with a large population of vulnerable patients as described by zip code, access to care, minority status, and LGBTQ status.
• Assess their individual and/or team practices in light of the information and discussions during the course, and identify specific strategies to implement as part of a continuing improvement process for their practices.
