2020 12th Annual Winter Hip & Knee Course is organized by the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR). The session is held from Jan 16 - 19, 2020 at Vail Marriott Mountain Resort, Vail, Colorado, United States of America. This course has been approved for up to 21.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

Target Audience:
The session is intended mainly for the orthopedic surgeons, fellows, residents, and other orthopedic healthcare professionals who are employed in the management of patients with hip and knee pathology.

Course Description:
During this four day meeting, our esteemed faculty will grant insightful review on various topics in primary and improvements in total hip and knee replacement, as well as crucial issues in practice management, through case-based board discussions, didactic presentations, and video anecdotes. A strong emphasis is presented on sharing the lessons learned from years of surgical experience in sessions such as:

• Distinguish and assess implant alternatives for the total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patient on the basis of patient type, design qualities, and reported patient outcomes
• Evaluate and estimate the various implant fixation options for TKA
• Review and examine different TKA surgical techniques
• Analyze expert assessment of current TKA strategies
• Appraise the patient selection criteria for knee revision surgery
• Learn and compare updated surgical techniques and failure mechanisms
• Recognize the patients who could benefit from hip resurfacing
• Analyze expert evaluation of bearing surfaces and related controversies
• Relate the surgical options for the complex total hip arthroplasty (THA)
• Estimate and evaluate perioperative concerns and potential complications associated with the THA
• Assess the painful failed THA
• Recognize diverse THA surgical techniques
• Classify the options for blood VTE risk management in the orthopedic patient
