The Postoperative Shoulder: Optimising Outcomes is organized by National Centre of Rehabilitation Education (NCORE) and will be held on Feb 01, 2019 at London Road Community Hospital, Derby, England, United Kingdom. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 7 CPD hours.

Conference Description :
This one day considers how we can use the current literature to enhance postoperative outcomes, identify those patients at risk of poorer outcome and crucially what we can do about it. It will explore the role of early mobilisation and simple effective strategies to facilitate patient's postoperative recovery together with a consideration of different shoulder surgery groups. This day is planned to be fun and interactive and equip participants with skills they can immediately apply in their practice.

Conference Aims :
• To review the current literature regarding factors affecting outcome following shoulder surgery and how this informs a proactive approach to optimising surgical outcomes.
• To consider the role of early mobilisation and other strategies to facilitate patient's postoperative recovery together with a consideration of different shoulder surgery groups.
• To review the specifics of different shoulder surgery procedures.
• To explore pre and postoperative management within a biopsychosocial model.

Conference Objectives :
• Understand key factors influencing outcome following shoulder surgery and how to address them.
• Understand the role of early mobilisation and safe zone concepts together with simple strategies to facilitate postoperative recovery.
• Understand the significance and rehabilitation implications of specific shoulder surgery procedures.
• Appreciate the importance of approaching postoperative rehabilitation within a biopsychosocial model.
