Pre-Qualification Group (PQG) Annual Conference 2019 is organized by Division of Clinical Psychology (DCP) Pre Qualification Group, British Psychological Society (BPS) and will be held on Mar 15, 2019 at Nottingham Conference Centre, Nottingham, England, United Kingdom.

Course Description:
The DCP’s Pre-Qualification Group is excited to present our 2019 Annual Conference: ‘Exploring Diverse Therapeutic Approaches in Clinical Psychology.

This year, we are inviting attendees to explore different therapeutic approaches that are delivered throughout the many different contexts clinical psychologists work.

At any stage of someone’s career but particularly at the pre-qualification level, we can find ourselves limited in the approaches we use or are aware of, whether this be in our roles as a Support Worker or Assistant Psychologist role, or during clinical psychology training.

With so many diverse ways of working out there, we hope this conference will provide a platform for attendees to learn more, explore and celebrate these different approaches, as well as enhance attendees’ ability to formulate in different ways.

Our keynote speaker presentations from leaders in the field will allow us the opportunity to consider different therapeutic approaches across different contexts, whether this be within the local community or global level, as well as reflect more on the impact clinical psychologists can have across the globe.

Learning outcomes and objectives:
• To learn about six different approaches delivered in clinical psychology
• To build on formulation skills and learn how to formulate in alternative ways
• To learn about the impact of different therapeutic approaches from experts by experience
• To consider different approaches in different contexts and how they can be implemented and adapted at a community and global level
• To continue to build and develop a supportive network of pre-qualified psychologists

Who is the course intended for?
We welcome anyone with an interest in diverse approaches in clinical psychology, however the day is most suited to those in pre-qualification roles (Assistant Psychologists, Research Assistants, Support Workers, Undergraduates, Postgraduates and Trainee Clinical Psychologists). The day is also well suited for service users/experts by experience who wish to engage with future clinical psychologists.
