OVERVIEW

Pediatric Pituitary Brain Tumor Day is organized by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and will be held on Mar 16, 2019 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Overview:
This one-day program is targeted to families who care for a child with a pituitary tumor.  The program will offer interactive topics to improve the care and understanding of the pituitary tumor and its effects.  There will be opportunity to ask questions to experts and to gain from the experience of many other families.

Topics include general overview of the pituitary gland, hypothalamic obesity, steroid management, growth hormone therapy, neurodevelopment, and hormone replacement specific to the males and females.

Objectives:
• Identify each of the hormones produced by the pituitary
• Explain features of hypothalamic obesity and approaches to therapy
• Explain how a brain tumor can effect neurodevelopment
• Explain when and how to administer stress steroid
• Discuss how to replacement sex specific hormones
