Overview
Asthma is the most common chronic illness of childhood, affecting almost 7 million children in the United States. Poorly controlled asthma limits activities, interferes with school attendance and can result, all too often, in emergency department visits and hospitalizations. Our challenge remains to provide safe and effective treatment of asthma and allergies. We developed this program to provide a forum to discuss current topics related to the diagnosis and management of pediatric asthma and allergy with primary care providers, who care for the majority of these children.
Topics Include:
• Wheezing in the Very Young
• Studies in the Primary Prevention of Asthma
• Reducing Healthcare Utilization for Children with Persistent Asthma
• Allergic Rhinitis
• Office Based Spirometry (With a Live Demonstration) and more
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Recognize the key factors from the Easy Breathing program
• Develop strategies to manage patients with persistent asthma
• Effectively utilize consultants for diagnosing and managing allergic conditions
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
