Description :
From the great evaluations and requests after last year’s NPAC Conference, 6 Advanced Procedures Workshops (APWs) and 7 additional Pre-Conferences will kick off the conference on Wednesday and Thursday, October 2-3, 2019. The outstanding APWs are designed to be fully hands-on with individual faculty attention, while the 7 Pre-Conferences will be filled with valuable information for all nurse practitioners (NPs) who work with acutely ill adults.
Back by popular demand, the Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) Course will be offered again as a Pre-Conference! This comprehensive course assists NPs in improving patient care outcomes during the first hours of a patient’s neurological emergency. The 8 full hours of instructor-led training will run Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. If attendees wish, this CE credit can be used as part of the requirement to obtain ENLS Certification.
A final opportunity to expand advanced procedure skills will be offered on Sunday after the closing session as a Post-Conference. “Procedure Workshop: Advanced Suturing” will offer an in-depth, hands-on experience for those needing to further develop techniques in suturing beyond the basics.
The conference Keynote Address will be given by Gladys M. Campbell, MSN, RN, NC-BC, FAAN, a past president of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She is currently the Executive Director of Harmony Hill Cancer Retreat Center, an independent health care consultant, leadership coach, and public speaker.
Her keynote, “Setting Your Intention: The Strategic Path to Professional Success and Personal Happiness,” is sure to energize the audience as attendees begin our three-day main conference! Immediately following, we will adjourn to what will be another remarkable Welcome Reception and Grand Opening of the Exhibits. Take advantage of all the exhibitors have to offer while networking, partaking in drinks, and enjoying hors d’oeuvres in the picturesque Baltimore Inner Harbor setting.
Unlike other conferences that feature numerous break-out sessions, the NPAC conference strives to bring all NPs who practice with acutely ill adults together as one to enjoy outstanding general sessions. A diverse program with topics relative to everyone continues all day Friday and Saturday. All NPAC sessions are presented by conference faculty with both national and international reputations. The conference speakers are all simply second to none!
While the day is long to capitalize on CE credit, there will not be a session to be missed. Attendees also have a chance to benefit from two peer-reviewed attendee Poster Sessions held on Friday and Saturday which will highlight the most recent research and scholarly projects and activities by NPs in acute care.
Late Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, the conference focus shifts to the latest Pharmacology Updates in Acute Care, allowing attendees to maximize their pharmacology CE requirements.
