We are proud to present two sponsored talks this year:
• Professor Thomas Scheeren (University Medical Center, Groningen, Netherlands) will be running a lunchtime symposium, sponsored by Edwards Lifesciences, on Monday 12 August, 1.20pm. His talk will be “Predicting Hypotension”
• Professor John Strang (Kings College, London) will talk about “Overdose deaths from heroin and other opioids - when and why do they occur and could we prevent them?”, a talk supported by EESSA and JDR Trust.

Conference Dinner – Tuesday 13th August, 7.30pm

The Edinburgh Anaesthesia Festival coincides with some of the 'other' world-renowned festivals – perfect for friends and family to join you:
• The Edinburgh International Festival runs from 2nd to 26th August and invites top-class performers of classical music, theatre, opera and dance
• The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world - runs from 2nd to 26th August, and has over 42,000 performances, 2,700 shows across 280 venues.
• The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, held from 2nd to 24th August is a spectacular global gathering of musicians and performers, military and civilian, from over 46 countries, and with an annual television audience of 100 million viewers worldwide.
• The Edinburgh Art Festival boasts Scotland’s best contemporary artists along with exhibitions of important international artists. It runs from 25th July to 25th August
• The Edinburgh International Book Festival runs from 10th to 26th August and invites over 800 authors, with 700 events, attracting 220,000 visitors who have the opportunity to meet the authors and attend high-profile debates / discussions.
