Hematopathologists, practicing pathologists with an interest in hematopathology, pathology and hematopathology trainees, hemotologist/oncologists and other medical personals.

General Information:
With the advent of molecular genetic testing and the new development in innovative and targeted therapy, the field of hematopathology is fast evolving. The World Health Organization published the most recent iteration of the Classification of Tumors of Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues in 2017 with changes to the definition and classification of many disease entities. This course is designed for pathologists and trainees who want to keep up with the recent updates in the diagnosis, classification and risk stratification of common disease entities in hematologic neoplasms.
Goals:
Following completion of this course the participants should be able to:
• Enumerate and utilize diagnostic criteria for aggressive B-cell lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma and NK-cell lymphoma and appropriately utilize of flow cytometry in the context of these neoplasms.
• Recognize the importance of appropriate classification of lymphomas in the selection of targeted therapies.
• Apply diagnostic criteria for classification of histiocytic neoplasms, leading to appropriate selection of therapy.
• Apply diagnostic criteria for classification of Ph-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms and myelodysplastic syndromes and be able to incorporate cytogenetic and molecular findings to enable appropriate prognostication and selection of therapy.
