Corso sulle Disfunzioni del Pavimento Pelvico: PROBLEM SOLVING! Dalla teoria alla pratica / Course on Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions: PROBLEM SOLVING! From theory to practice is organized by Defoe Congresses / Defoe Congress and will be held on Oct 25, 2019 at Coronado Hotel Congress Center, Mendrisio, Ticino, Switzerland.

Description:
The course stems from the idea of ??exploring some controversial topics on the diagnostic and therapeutic management of pelvic floor, lower urinary tract and intestinal disorders. The audience is represented by specialists and doctors in training in: Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Geriatrics, Physiology, Neurology, Physiotherapy, Obstetrics and General Medicine; to emphasize the importance of the multidisciplinary approach, very often required by these issues. 

The course, born from the collaboration between GLUP, SIUD and the Pelvic Disorders and Incontinence Center of the Beata Vergine Hospital in Mendrisio, foresees a first introductory phase on the anatomy and pathophysiology of the pelvic floor, in which diagnostic / therapeutic protocols proposed in the international literature will be discussed and compared, verifying their adherence to international guidelines. In addition there will be an entire session of Video Surgery in which, experienced operators, will show the main surgical procedures for such dysfunctions.

The second session, instead, will be focused on the dysfunctions of the pelvic area in the obstetric-gynecological field, still little considered today, although about a third of the women who give birth have a disorder of this area. The possibility will also be offered to participate in practical sessions regarding the protection of the perineum during a vaginal birth, the repair techniques of obstetric tears and the pelvic floor rehabilitation methods during pregnancy and after childbirth. In the two discussions scheduled at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions, questions related to the proposed topics will also be debated. We are waiting for you in Mendrisio to share an intense day of work, to try to shed light on topics that still hide too many shadows.
