BBTA Problem Solving Workshop: Ataxia (Sep, 2019)

BBTA Problem Solving Workshop: Ataxia is organized by National Centre of Rehabilitation Education (NCORE) and will be held from Sep 11 - 12, 2019 at London Road Community Hospital, Derby, England, United Kingdom.

CPD: 8.5 hours

Who will Benefit:
The course is aimed at qualified therapists with some previous neurological experience. Prior attendance on the BBTA Introductory modules would be an advantage, but is not essential

Course Aims:
This 1.5 days Workshop will focus on optimising rehabilitation of the client with ataxia. It will consist of a lecture including an update on research on the cerebellum, relevant systems control and underpinning therapy rationales for clinical interventions.

Practical movement control sessions will explore optimal ways of influencing postural control and stability including central vestibular integration for balance. There will be a patient focussed Clinical Workshop exploring assessment, clinical reasoning and intervention.
