Join us for the inaugural offering of the Amputation Prevention Symposium (AMP) in Europe.

For more than 8 years, driven by a team of renowned multidisciplinary course directors, and led by Jihad A. Mustapha, MD, a pioneer in the field of interventional cardiology, AMP has served as an excellent forum to connect clinicians-interventional cardiologists and radiologists, vascular surgeons, and the entire limb salvage team-with the foremost experts in CLI to gain knowledge on the latest advances in revascularization and learn from one another to save limbs and save lives.

The goal of AMP Europe is the same as Chicago: to save limbs and save lives. AMP Europe will deliver a practical program on CLI prevalence, diagnosis, treatment (surgical, endovascular, and medical management), and post-revascularization surveillance. The inaugural congress will be tailored to the specific needs of the healthcare systems throughout Europe and beyond, and renowned faculty will give participants the opportunity to gain insight and perspective on CLI advances from around the world.

Learning Objectives:
After attending AMP, participants should be able to:
• Apply a comprehensive, multidisciplinary best practice approach for patients with advanced peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and critical limb ischemia (CLI) at risk for major amputation
• Describe arterial angiosome anatomy in conjunction with cutaneous and ultrasonic angiosome mapping in patients with advanced tibio-pedal arterial disease at risk for major amputation
• Describe the surgical approach to post-revascularization limb salvage for patients with CLI at risk for major amputation
• Implement a diagnostic algorithm which includes selective angiography as a critical step for patients with CLI who are at risk for amputation
• Incorporate advanced tibio-pedal access in combination with antegrade access in limb salvage procedures
• Utilize digital branch access during CLI interventions
• Implement transcollateral interventions in below-the-knee and below-the-ankle interventions
• Describe tips and tricks for safe and effective surgical and endovascular treatment of CLI from access to closure
• Describe unique considerations when evaluating the diabetic foot ulcer in the setting of CLI
• Describe the current state of wound oriented revascularization in the patient with CLI
• Describe the algorithm to identify and treat mixed arterial and venous wounds in the patient with CLI
• Describe when to refer the patient with CLI and osteomyelitis for an ID consult
• Describe when to urgently refer a patient with CLI and wounds to a wound care specialist
• Describe when to urgently refer a patient post-revascularization back to the revascularization specialist
• Describe current medical management of the patient with advanced PAD or CLI
• Describe currently available drug-eluting technology for the treatment of above-the-knee and below-the-knee lesions in the patient with CLI
• Describe current wire, catheter, balloon, crossing, atherectomy, re-entry, and closure devices available for treatment of CLI, and describe mechanism of action and when most appropriate to utilize
• Describe the role of atherectomy in CLI and its application in amputation prevention Treat complex chronic total occlusions in tibial and pedal arterial vessels in the patient with CLI
• Implement procedural and technological advances in wound care practices for patients facing major amputation due to advanced PAD, advanced non-healing wounds, and gangrene
