WORLD EXPERTS SPEAK ON MOOD, GENES AND COGNITION AT THE 7^TH BIOCEUTICALS RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM IN SYDNEY THIS MAY

New therapies for Alzheimer’s, using genetic tests to improve autism and depression, and the gut-brain connection are among the key topics to be presented by leading international researchers and clinicians at the 7^th BioCeuticals Research Symposium in Sydney from 3 – 5 May 2019.

The Symposium theme Mood, Genes and Cognition will explore the integrative health strategies for managing mental and neurological disorders, including the most complex cases.

Recent epidemiological studies have found a steady rise in mental and neurological disorders in Australia. Dementia is now the leading cause of death among females, surpassing heart disease, while almost half of the population (45.5%) experience a mental disorder at some point in their life.^1,2 

More than 500 delegates are expected to attend the Symposium, held by Australia’s leading nutraceuticals and supplement company BioCeuticals.

The keynote speakers at the 7^th BioCeuticals Research Symposium include:

• Dr Dale Bredesen (USA) is the global authority in the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. Dr Bredesen’s research has shown that Alzheimer’s disease stems from an imbalance in nerve cell signalling and has opened the door to a new therapeutic approach. Dr Bredesen will outline a new approach to the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

• Ms Amanda Archibald (USA) is a dietitian, nutritionist and public health advocate, who has pioneering the emerging disciple of culinary genomics. Ms Archibald will focus on food-gene relationships, especially those related issues impacting long-term health – inflammation, oxidative stress, blood sugar and fats and gut health.

• Dr Jay Lombard (USA) is a world-renowned neurologist, author and key note speaker, who specialises in creating solutions for brain health and intractable neurological disorders. Dr Lombard will demonstrate how he utilises genetic testing to improve neuropsychiatric conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease and depression. 

• Dr Brandon Brock (USA), chiropractic neurologist, family nurse practitioner and nutritionist, has a passion for providing easy-to-comprehend skills that can be utilised in a clinical setting. Dr Brock will outline a unique and integrated understanding of functional neurology blending nutrition, pharmacology, immunology and endocrinology with a focus on the gut brain axis.
