4th Regional Oncology Nursing Conference (RONC) 2019 is organized by National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and will be held from Jan 18 - 19, 2019 at Academia, Singapore.
Conference Description :
The theme for the Conference is “Connecting The Dots: Oncology Nursing Across The Care Continuum”. Cancer care could be akin to “connecting the dots” whereby multi-dimensional aspects of care are involved. The continual evolvement of cancer care is not only effectuated through years of alignment with advanced techniques and new innovations, but also with scientific breakthroughs in new therapies and treatment modalities.
Recognising the need for a paradigm shift in care for an ageing population, which brings about an increased risk of cancer, it is opportune for oncology nurses to meet the changing healthcare landscape locally and globally to enhance the quality of care for patients. The transformation of cancer as chronic disease further magnifies the desideratum of continual cancer nursing evolution. Engagement and partnership with the community to focus on transition of care beyond acute setting towards the community and home based care as well as empowering nurses to incorporate knowledge into practical solutions are paramount.
The Conference, comprising Pre-Conference workshops on 17 January, followed by a two-day Conference, will serve as a platform for intellectual exchange on the various aspects of clinical practice, innovations and education, create opportunities for networking and foster future collaborations amongst healthcare professionals in the region.
