42nd Annual UC Davis Emergency Medicine Winter Conference is organized by UC Davis Health System - Continuing Medical Education and will be held from Mar 04 - 08, 2019 at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, Truckee, California, United States of America.

Target Audience:
This activity is designed for emergency medicine health care professionals. It also provides an excellent educational opportunity for physicians and allied health professionals who are peripherally involved in the management of ill or injured patients.

Course objectives:
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Identify and select proper equipment for difficult airway management and utilize an approach that is safest and most effective for definitive airway management. Incorporate extraglottic devices for oxygenation of patients. Perform a surgical airway in a can’t oxygenate, can’t ventilate, can’t intubate situation.
• Apply recommended ultrasound techniques at the bedside to identify reversible etiologies of pain, hemodynamic instability, and shock. Interpret point of care US images and integrate findings into medical decision making.
• Understanding emerging guidelines and novel testing strategies to differentiate children with serious bacterial illness from children with benign viral syndromes.
