12th Medication Safety Conference 2019

The 12th Medication Safety Conference continues its mission of improving patient safety in the region. This year’s event will highlight the roles of health system integration, clinical excellence and innovation in healthcare.This highly anticipated installment will take place from 31 October to November 3, 2019 at the Dusit Thani hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Medication Safety Conference is now on its 3rd year of collaboration with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), which ensures greater access to well-regarded experts and global contemporary practice topics. The conference is also supported by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the International Medication Safety Network (IMSN), the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) and ISMP Canada. Building on its track record of success, the event will host over 1,200 delegates from the GCC and surrounding regions, including pharmacists, physicians, nurses, students and other healthcare professionals devoted to patient safety and in particular medication safety best practices.

The Medication Safety Conference delivers its scientific program through numerous tracks, expanding beyond just the pharmacist’s role in medication management. The streams focus on novel breakthrough topics that allow medical, nursing, allied health and quality staff, as well as healthcare administrators to remain abreast on patient safety issues. Moreover, through its accreditation, this event allows for healthcare clinicians to obtain continuing education credits, and serves as valuable platform for networking opportunities.

This year’s edition of the Medication Safety Conference will bring together a group of worldwide leaders in the field of pharmacy and medication safety to Abu Dhabi. Respected experts participating once again in this series include our keynote speaker Dr. Paul Abramowitz, Chief Executive Officer of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Dr. Jeannell Mansur, Practice Leader for Medication Safety for Joint Commission Resources, along with many other highly renowned lecturers from across the globe.
