Urinary Incontinence and Reconstructive Urology Cadaveric Surgical Skills Course is organized by Suzanne Biers and will be held from Dec 13 - 14, 2018 at The Evelyn Cambridge Surgical Training Centre, Melbourn, England, United Kingdom.
The target audience for this medical event is ST3-8 (Open nationally and internationally for application. HEE regional trainees will have 6-8 reserved places available).
Course Description:
A practical course: delegates will have hands on experience of a range of female stress urinary incontinence and urinary tract reconstructive surgical techniques using fresh frozen cadavers, in a simulated operating environment with experience faculty.
Urology Procedures:
• Autologous rectus fascial sling insertion
• Colposuspension
• Midurethral sling approaches
• Female artificial urinary sphincter insertion
• Harvest of Martias fat pad
• Ileocystopasty
• Mitrofanoff/Monti formation
• Ileocystoplasty
• Ileal conduit formation
Additional educational elements:
• Short lecture on the surgical steps for each skill with relevant anatomy
The course includes:
• Educational material, tuition from experience faculty, and use of surgical instruments and materials
• Shared access to a fresh-frozen cadaveric pelvis, abdomen, perineum Buffet lunch and refreshments
