UCSF CME: Updates in Inflammatory Bowel Disease 2018 is organized by The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Office of Continuing Medical Education and will be held from Nov 03 - 04, 2018 at The St. Regis San Francisco, San Francisco, California, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, internists, and advanced practice professionals who participate in the management of this complicated patient population. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 10.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description :
The UCSF Center for Colitis and Crohn's Disease is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and related illnesses. As part of this commitment, we are proud to present our fifteenth annual inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) symposium. This course will address advances in the medical and surgical management of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis including novel therapies and optimizing current medications. Management of special populations including the pregnant patient and those with complications of therapy will be discussed.
Course Objectives :
Upon completion of this course, attendees will refine their approach to:
• Appropriate type and timing of therapy for the patient with moderate to severe IBD
• Managing therapy in the patient with malignancy and IBD
• Recognition and management of colonic dysplasia
• The use of Complementary Alternative Medicine
• The management of fistulas
• Recommending health care maintenance for patients with IBD
• Understanding the rates of IBD in diverse populations
• Prescribing medical therapy for the pregnant patient with IBD.
