The Structural Heart Disease Summit is organized by CardioVascular Research Foundation (CRF) and will be held during Jun 20 - 23, 2018 at Sheraton Grand Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is Interventional cardiologists, general cardiologists, cardiology fellows, catheterization laboratory technicians, and other healthcare professionals interested in learning the latest indications, devices, techniques, and outcomes for the prevention of cardioembolic stroke by LAA and PFO closure. LAA and PFO Closure :
Overview :
LAA and PFO Closure - Interventional Prevention of Cardioembolic Stroke: A Technique-Oriented Course will provide cardiologists and other healthcare providers with the latest information on the technologies, indications, and outcomes of left atrial appendage (LAA) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure to prevent cardioembolic stroke. Live cases will be performed by experts in the field to demonstrate firsthand basic and advanced techniques of LAA and PFO closure. Imaging for preprocedural planning and procedural guidance will be emphasized. This course is designed to provide an overview of all treatment modalities—from current clinical data to how to perform the procedure—and methods to work through any complications in order to provide better care to patients.

Learning Objectives :
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Describe the indications for and outcomes of LAA and PFO closure to prevent stroke
• Explain the devices, technology, and basic techniques of LAA and PFO closure
• Understand the imaging guidance of LAA and PFO closure, trans-septal puncture, device sizing and placement, and determinations of success
• Discuss the clinical results of current and future trials of LAA and PFO closure
• Describe the tips and tricks of setting up a cardioembolic stroke prevention program
